Aliah University has been conducting Vocational Training programme for Skill Development in various courses in
collaboration with a number of well-reputed and well-established government and non-government organizations. This
programme has been taken up as a project from the Department of Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education, Govt. of
West Bengal. It is meant for the school/college drop-outs (or who cannot afford higher education) among the minority
communities residing in different districts of West Bengal including Kolkata. 90 % of the course fees of this
programme will be borne by the Government and only 10% of the same will have to be paid by the trainee. The name
of each of the courses to be started from the autumn (Odd) Semester of the 2013-2014 sessions with place and duration
of training, course fee, and eligibility are given below:
(1) Compressed Machinist Course – Kolkata (Bon Hooghly Industrial Area), 12 Months, 30,000/-, Madhyamik or
Equivalent, Age - 16-20 years. (2) Machine Operator (Injection Mould) – Purba Medinipur (Haldia), 6 Months,
26,000/- (Including Accommodation), Madhyamik or Equivalent, Age – 18-40 years. (3) Machine Operator
(Extrusion Process) – Purba Medinipur (Haldia), 6 Months, 26,000/- (Including Accommodation), Madhyamik or
Equivalent, Age – 18-40 years. (4) Plastic Processing Machine Maintenance - Purba Medinipur (Haldia), 6 Months,
26,000/- (Including Accommodation), Higher Secondary or ITI, Age – 18-40 years. (5) Cloth Production Technology
(CPT) – Kolkata (NIFT campus, Salt Lake, Sec-III), 12 Months, 61,900/-, Graduation or 10+2 with one year related
experience, Age – 18-35 years. (6) Advance Diploma in Information Technology (ADIT) – Purulia (Purulia Town),
12 Months, 10,000/-, Higher Secondary or Equivalent, Age – 18-35 years. (7) Cookery Food Production &

The Intake capacity in each centre is 25, except Sl. No. 5, 27, & 28 where the intake capacity is 10,15 &
30 respectively.
Note:
1. Candidate must belong to Minority Community and should be domicile of West Bengal.
2. Age will be counted from the 1st June, 2013.
3. Candidate must have aptitude & interest in the particular course he/she applies for.
4. One candidate cannot apply for more than one course.
5. If at any centre or for any course the number of selected students is less than the required number, admission to
that course or at that centre may not be considered during the concerned semester/session.
6. Aliah University does not guarantee placement.
7. Candidates who have taken a vocational course from Aliah University earlier will not be eligible to apply for
another vocational course. Any one found guilty of the same will be penalized as per University rules.
8. No Traveling Allowance will be given for joining, interview and training.
9. All courses are full-time (5 days in a week, 5 hours in a day) & minimum of 75% attendance is a must failing
which he/she will be debarred from further continuation of his/her training & appearing in the examinations.
10. One copy of recent passport size photograph should be pasted in the Application Form. Other documents need not
be submitted along with the application form. (Copies of all documents are to be brought along with the original at the
time of interview).
11. Application Forms may be collected from & deposited at the office of Secretary, CVS, Aliah University Salt Lake
from 3rd June to 21st June, 2013 between 11:00 AM & 3:00 PM on all working days (Monday to Friday). Application

12. Application may be sent to the University by Speed Post or Registered Post or can also be submitted by hand in our
University Office at DN-41, Sector –V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata -91.
13. Fee once paid during admission will not be refunded under any circumstances. It is also not adjustable
against any other programme of this University. However, in cases where the course could not be started due to
unavoidable reasons, the fee collected from the student will be refunded.
14. If job is offered even outside West Bengal, the candidate will have to accept.
